Prague Airport Launches New Route Mapping Application from OAG

Thursday 27 August 2009

Extends its Marketing Reach as an International Gateway

Prague Airport, the hub airport for Czech Airlines and the largest airport within the Czech Republic, has enhanced the customer experience on its web site by adding an interactive timetable and route-mapping tool. OAG Route Mapper is a new online mapping application, developed and hosted by OAG, the world’s leading aviation data business, and integrated into an airport’s own web site.

Currently, 50 scheduled airlines offer direct flights from Prague Airport to 127 destinations in 52 countries. Business and leisure travellers can now see at-a-glance where they can fly to from the hub, either directly or via a connection, and to view times and details of all flights on any route. This new service is live at

www.csl.cz/en via the Flight Info tab which takes the visitor to http://timetables.oag.com/PRGroutemapper/ .

Prague Airport is the first customer to take advantage of the multi-lingual capabilities of OAG Route Mapper, with the service available in English and in Czech.

"It has always been Prague Airport's quest to improve its website presentation. To make the flight search for website visitors more attractive we have launched a new travel planner with a RouteMapper service, making the navigation easier," commented Stanislav Zeman, Executive Director for Aviation Business, Marketing and Product Development, and added: "Improvement of our online Travel Planner is part of the long-term plan of Prague Airport to offer the most modern services. We are proud to be the first airport in Europe to offer this product to passengers.”

John Weber, Senior Vice President, OAG Aviation, said: “We are very pleased to have Prague Airport on board with our new Route Mapper product. Prague is a rapidly expanding international gateway and is ideally positioned to benefit from including this added value content on its web site. Route Mapper is a convenient and effective way to increase web site traffic and attract more passengers.”

OAG Route Mapper is a major upgrade of OAG’s existing Internet Timetables service. It has been developed as an effective marketing tool to help airports of any size to promote their reach to destinations beyond the routes they serve directly.
